If you are looking to buy a new TV then you will have probably heard of
the new LED TVs and they are a very good choice for several reasons. They
are the next level of TV technology and offer an incredible picture quality
but as well as this they are also impossibly thin and use 40% less power
than the already quite efficient LCD screens.
LED Technology
The term LED refers to the way that the TV is lit. All TVs need a back-light
to light up the image with all previous TVs using a fluorescent lamp but
the LED TV's use LED lights which are much smaller and also much more efficient
and so they make the TV cheaper to run and also much thinner. The picture
quality is also improved by a large margin though as this new type of lights
allows for a much better contrast ratio and so the colours are much more
life like and the performance on blacks is much, much better than the older
TV's.
The LED TV's look much the same as the LCD screens but are much thinner and
so you can still buy the usual sizes such as 32, 40, 46, 52 and 55 inches.
The 32 and 40 inch LED TVs are a very popular choice as they are cheap and
also a very nice size for the lounge and having such a large screen also makes
it very easy to appreciate the incredible on screen quality.
Full HD LED
Most LED TV's offer the full HD resolution and so you get a breathtaking level
of detail and clarity. The resolution is 1080p and these 1080p full HD LED
TV's have the best picture quality possible because as well as the huge level
of detail the LED light offers a stunning quality to the colours. They usually
also have 4 HDMI sockets and so you can easily connect all of your full HD
equipment.
Most of the top brands will be offering LED TV's that you can buy and at the
moment Samsung are the best choice as Samsung have lots available and they
are also of a very high quality. Other brands like Sony, Panasonic and LG are
also sure to produce a great range of LED TV's as they are also well known
for producing TV's of a very high quality.
When you buy an LED TV there are lots of features that you need to look for.
The TV tuner that is included is very important as this dictates which TV service
you will be using with Freeview and Freesat being very popular choices. The
Freeview TV tuner is the most common offered and offers easy access to lots
of digital TV channels and so is fine for most people. Also look at the quality
of the speakers that are included if you are not using a home cinema system
but using external speakers will always give the best results.
So buying a new LED TV is a great investment and they are very stylish from
top brands such as Samsung, Sony and Panasonic and they are also available
